WØJH Tri-State 2015 Special Event (Sept. 18-20)

WØJH White Rock South Dakota Tri-State Special Event (Sept. 18 – 20)

Members from the Stillwater, Minnesota Amateur Radio Association (SARA) will set up and operate portable stations from the junction of three states; South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota. Two stations will be operating from White Rock, South Dakota; about one mile from the tri-state marker. Another station will be situated at the marker (counties of Roberts, SD, Richland, ND and Traverse, MN) at Grid Square EN15.

White Rock was once a small but thriving town until the late 1960s when the railroad rerouted away from the town. With a present population of only two residents, Mayor and former ham Rudy Rodriguez, will be on hand throughout the event. We will operate from tents, using generator and battery power.

This year marks the fifth time we have operated from this location; previous events were in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2012.
