SARA This Week Oct 24 – Oct 30

Greetings, all!

It’s the “Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald” Special Event week. Team WØJH will be on the air Oct 29 – 31 for the 17th consecutive year with a return to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park ENE of Two Harbors, MN.

SARA holds on-air ragchews every day of the week. Details can be found in the “This Week’s SARA Activities” section below.

The weekly Eyeball QSO Party is at the Stillwater Public Library except the 1st Thursday of the month.

17th Annual “Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald” Special Event Station October 29 – October 31

We will have 2 stations on the air from Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, operating SSB primarily ~3.860MHz, 7.260MHz, 14.255MHz, & 21.360MHz + or – depending upon band conditions. Once established, one of the stations will likely remain on 20m due to the expected activity, and the second station will likely primarily spend most of the time on either 40m, or 75m, but may show up on 15m, 17m, or even 10m, depending upon conditions and activity. We may also have a station in the park dedicated to digital operation.

While there will be no CW operation from within the park, some of our club members may not be able to participate from the state park site, so we anticipate some off-site “distributive” digital and CW operation. For CW, look ~3.560, 7.050, 14.050, 18.080, & 21.060MHz.

We’ll be operating from the usual facility, Split Rock Lighthouse State Park Trail Center, per the following:

  • Friday, Oct. 29 (half day, includes set-up ~noon; operating ~2:00 – 4:30pm)
  • Saturday, Oct. 30 (all day; operating ~10:00am – 5:00pm)
  • Sunday, Oct. 31 (all day, includes operating ~10:00am; take-down ~6:00pm)
(Saturday and Sunday are listed in the Oct. issue of QST and posted on the ARRL website.)

Full details can be found at the WØJH page on QRZ.com or here on this website at radioham.org/events/special-events-qsls/
