This is not a “new norm” – it is not normal. This is life as we need to act to control the COVID-19 pandemic. I cannot stress enough that we all need to follow our federal, state, and local officials orders and guidelines for our health and safety. DO THE FIVE.
Wellness checks are part of our on-air gatherings, whether stated or otherwise. Joining our on-air activity is a wellness check in itself.
As many have stated in the past week or more, amateur radio is social distancing. Expanding our on-air activities is one way that SARA is working to help you and your health, physical and mental.
We’ve added TMT – The Thursday Sessions to our on-air schedule. Details of this session are below.
Starting Monday March 23, what I am calling the “Lunch Room.” will be held on the SARA repeater over the “lunch hour” beginning about Noon. Many of us who are still working for a living are finding ourselves working from home now, isolated from the normal social contact of our workplaces. And there are those of you who are enjoying retirement, but find yourselves confined to home. Let’s get on the repeater and say hello, see how things are going, share what you’re up to, and lift each other’s spirits. The “Lunch Room” is informal, just get on the repeater around Noon and we’ll add you to the group.

Frequency: 3.584.15 USB Look for the net up 500-1000 Hz +/- on your waterfall.
Mode: THOR16 (NCS will transmit RSID, be sure to have RxID enabled)
NCS: KCØOIO
NCS and others participating in the Digi Net monitor the SARA repeater 147.060+ (DCS/DTCS 026 Normal) during the net to provide assistance as needed.
2. SARA Top Band Ragchew
Nightly except Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 20:00 Central (01:00 UTC)
Frequency: 1.966 LSB +/- QRM
3. SARA Monday Morning Ragchew March 23
Time: 09:00 Central (14:00 UTC)
Frequency: 3.856 LSB +/- QRM
