The meeting was called to order at 9:07 AM.

February 27, 2016 – the Metro SKYWARN training class will be held in the Stillwater Library.

March 03, 2016 – Technician Class starts.

Activities & Events: Dave WØOXB (not present)

Thursday Night Eye Ball Sessions – are held at Stillwater Public Library at 6:00 CT. The library will be closed on Dec 24th and Dec 31st so there won’t be any sessions held on those days.

Ice Station WØJH – will be held Feb 13, 14, 15 2016 on Lake Elmo near the QTH of Dave KEØAIF.

Member Assistance Program – is currently on winter hiatus. However, Jim Boyd KCØQCO (Washington County ARES PIO) with SEMARC recently donated a Hustler 6BTV trap vertical antenna which will be put to good use by newly-licensed ham, Frank Carlson KDØSVO.

Handiham Equipment Liaison Program (HELP)

The remote stations are back up and running and can be accessed via remotehams.com.

Pat WAØTDA has finally retired from his day job.

We will need volunteers to work at the storage facility in Woodbury to begin to sort through the equipment to decide if it will be used as active Tier 1 equipment for special events and remote stations or disposed of through hamfests and other means.

The rent is paid thru December 2015 for the storage facility and permission has been received to continue to pay rent thru April 2016.

Washington County ARES: John KAØHYR (not present)

Check the web site www.mnwashcoares.org regularly for current events, net schedule, and other items of significance.  There will be no nets scheduled until January 2016.

Digital Net: Joe KCØOIO

SARA DIGI Net at 3.581.15 MHz USB is held every Sunday night at 7 PM CT.  Look up 500 to 1000 Hz on waterfall.

Two meter ragchew is held every Wednesday night at 9 PM CT. You can find us at 147.060 MHz 114.8 Hz Tone.

160 meters SARA Top Band Ragchew is at 1.966 MHz. They operate every night except Tuesday & Thursday at 8 PM CT.

Newsletter & Website: Pat WAØTDA & Dave WØOXB

Thanks to Pat and Dave for putting together the newsletter! Additional contributors are needed. The deadline for submissions for the January issue is the last Saturday of December- 12/26.

DX News: Mike NØODK (not present)

There will be a 10 meter contest this weekend.

SARA outgoing DX QSL service – SARA will package and send outbound DX QSL cards to the ARRL Bureau for SARA members who are also ARRL members. Please include a copy of your QST mailing label showing your ARRL member number with your QSL package. Give your cards to Bob WØGAF.

Good of Association:

There will be a SEMARC Meeting on January 12, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove.

National Parks On-The-Air (NPOTA) will run all of 2016. SARA will be setting up to run at the St Croix and Mississippi Riverway sometime during 2016. Since all contacts must be loaded into Logbook of the World, WØJH will have an account set up for it in the near future. There will be certificates issued for both Activators and Chasers.

The business part of the meeting adjourned at 9:42 AM.

 

Program: Amateur Radio Knowledge and Trivia – Joe KCØOIO

Joe KCØOIO put together 50 questions in the form of a Jeopardy Show with five different categories of questions. The audience participation was excellent and some door prizes were awarded during the program. Everyone seemed to enjoy this unique, change of pace presentation.
