Mark your calendars for June 28-29th.   That’s the weekend for the ARRL  Field day event at the Autumn hills shelter located at Boutwells Landing (same as last year).  Volunteers are needed.  See Dave if you can help. There is a Handiham workshop in Maple Lake call Dave to get involved. May 3rd Saturday Superior Wisconsin has a Ham fest.

Digital Net – Joe KCØOIO: stated that the Digital Net has been cancelled for the summer. Members were reminded of the SEMARC digital net on Thursday nights at 8:30.  Check-in is on 146.985 Mhz and the net then moves to 144.950 Mhz.

ARES: John KAØHYR stated ARES is on flood watch for Bayport.  He added that the KSØJ repeater has been taken off the air as the city is in the process of painting the water tower where their repeater is stationed.  It is expected that the painting might well take over a year to complete.  ARES drills/nets have been held on the KSØJ repeater but now will be moved to the 146.985 repeater until the painting is completed.   800 Mhz  radio training was cancelled because of a power failure at the EOC.  The training  will be rescheduled. QST has a public service article  that everyone should see. Members were encouraged to keep their spare batteries charged .

Program:  Keith AGØH, Joe KCØOIO and Bob WØGAF gave a great introduction to the digital voice world of FREEDV and DSTAR.  Thanks for a great presentation with power point and live demo. If anyone would like to get more involved Keith,  Joe or Bob would love  to help. This just goes to show there is still experimenting going out here in Ham radio.

A motion was made and passed to adjourn the meeting at 11:10 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Dan Lee
