BOARD MEETING MINUTES – September 18, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 6:01 PM.

Officers present: Peter NØGRM, Dave WØOXB, Joe KCØOIO, Shel NØDRX

Minutes from Board Meeting May 15, 2014 were read and approved.

Minutes from Membership Meeting September 13, 2014 will be sent to the executive board for review.

Activities/Events Report – Dave WØOXB

Upcoming membership meeting programs decided through Feb 2015:

Oct 2014 – Peter NØGRM and Steve KAØOBI will discuss field trips with Elecraft KX-3.

Nov 2014 – Jim WN4GMT will present an overview and video of the Queen Mary radio station

W6RO.

Dec 2014 – Dan from Radio City will talk about the commerce side of ham radio and the Chinese influence on the industry.

Jan 2015 – Club elections, White elephant gift exchange, and Pat WAØTDA will update us on remote station operation.

Feb 2015 – Greg KØGW and Skip KSØJ will give us an ARRL update.

Split Rock Event – recent planning includes sending a broadcast e-mail to everyone about the dates so people can commit and make hotel reservations.

2015 Ice Shack Portable Event – Feb 14-16, 2015. Dave will put a notice in QST and e-mail Dan ADØDV to ask if he will host the event.

Member Assistance Program – Dave listed about seven antenna projects that he currently has requests for and would like some help from other members to complete them.

Handiham Equipment Testing – The Handihams receive donations of equipment every month that need to be tested and evaluated. If you can help please contact Pat WAØTDA.

Education & Training Report – Bob WØGAF

Nobody showed up for the first General Class study group at the Library.

Next week the training will be held at Boutwell’s Landing.

Newsletter – Pat WAØTDA – Pat was not present at the meeting.

New Business

The club needs to solicit members to run for office in preparation for the upcoming 2015 Election. Peter NØGRM will work on an e-mail to the members.

Shel NØDRX revised the Member Application form, sent the new form to all board members for comments and changes, and asked that it be added to the new website.

Dave WØOXB would like to purchase two heaters at Fleet Farm while they are on sale. He was originally authorized to spend $600 for two ice shelters and still has $151.15 of that authorization remaining.

John N5JLZ mentioned that SARA merchandise is now available for purchase directly from HamThreads. You can call them at 817-471-4488 or send an e-mail to info@hamthreads.com.

Joe KCØOIO is looking for more volunteers for the ADA Walk To Stop Diabetes event on Oct 4th. He currently has 5 volunteers but needs 6.

Shel NØDRX submitted the Annual Repeater Update Form to the Repeater Council.
