Additional ideas for possible programs – Mobile installations – tips, tricks, and pratfalls; Maidenhead Grid Squares; Foxhunting; and Ham Radio Roundtable. Other ideas could be on analyzers & antennas (around springtime) and grounding your shack properly.

Education & Training Report – Bob WØGAF (teaching General class)

So far the November 5th class does not have a location, since the library will be unavailable due to a book fair.

Newsletter & Websites – Pat Tice WAØTDA & Dave WØOXB (not present)

The deadline for submitting content for the November issue of the newsletter is October 31st. The November issue will be published by November 7th.

Repeater – Henry KØHAS & Shel NØDRX

Joe KCØOIO mentioned that one operator was not able to hit the repeater from a rest stop in a parking lot during the ADA Walk on Oct 3rd. It appears that trees or other obstacles may be the reason since he was eventually able to access the repeater after moving to the other end of the parking lot.

Unfinished Business

50/50 Drawing – So far the drawing has been well received. Ways to increase participation was discussed. Selling tickets by the door as members come into the auditorium and during the break before the program was suggested.

Alternate meeting location consideration –Bob WØGAF was going to call FamilyMeans which has a building located at 1875 Northwestern Ave. in Stillwater to inquire about using their meeting room as a future location.

Coffee Mug with Club logo sales update – Keith AGØH – sales are good so far and some mugs will be brought to Split Rock to be sold.

ARRL 2016 National Parks Anniversary Special Event – Since this will be going on for all of 2016 we may want to consider scheduling an event at a location near the Twin Cities.

New Business

Pat Tice – Handihams/SARA affiliation – since Pat anticipates retiring in Dec 2015, he wants to wind down part of the Handiham Program that deals with donated radio equipment. Most of this equipment is in unheated storage, in unknown operating condition, and probably not suitable for Handiham use. Pat is open to proposals from SARA on how to deal with this equipment. Possibilities discussed include selling or auctioning the equipment through local hamfests. An accurate inventory of the equipment in storage does not exist. Ideally, they would want the equipment disposed of by the end of 2016 with the proceeds divided in an equitable manner.

Split Rock 2016 Dates – The dates of Nov 4th, 5th and 6th were decided as the best schedule for next year’s event so that the park space can be reserved a year in advance.

Ice Station Special Event – the Board needs to decide before Dec 1st in order to get listed in the appropriate issue of QST magazine. A decision will be made at a later date in regards to Goose Lake for this winter event.

Club Officers for 2016 – All of the current club officers have agreed to run again for 2016.

Presenter’s Mouse – To make it easier for presenters at General Meetings it was proposed that a presentation mouse be purchased. The motion was seconded and carried. The cost is about $25 to $50.

General Meeting Breakfasts – Due to recent delays at Joseph’s Restaurant we are looking into changing the location of the Saturday morning breakfast to the Perkins just west of Joseph’s on Hwy 36.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
