The weather is slowly improving so more projects will be able to be scheduled as the spring warm-up approaches.

Randy Olson KDØVKB did a great job describing his specialty of bringing old vintage radios back to life.

Eyeball Sessions – Skills Night

March 23rd – this meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about ‘Using your Digital Multimeter’.  If you have a multimeter, be sure to bring it to follow along.  Otherwise there will be a variety of multimeters to see and learn about.

April or May – BBHN Mesh Network – we want to get the network setup perfected so it will run smoothly on Field Day.

Other projects being considered include:  baluns, SWR Bridge Calibration (KØGW), building coax cables, exploring JT modes and software, programming HTs, DX Labs Suite, Logger32 & N1MM (NØODK).

Education & Training Report – Bob WØGAF

The SkyWarn 2017 Training was held Feb 25th at the Stillwater Library and had a nice turnout of interested people.

Technician Class 2017 began and has a solid group of attendees interested in obtaining their license.  The Extra Class Study Group is being held the same nights as the Technician Class training.

The VE Session is scheduled for April 27th at Boutwells Landing.

New Ham Night will take place on May 18th.

Newsletter & Websites – Pat Tice WAØTDA (Not present) & Dave WØOXB (Not present)

The April issue deadline is March 25th with a publishing date by April 1st.  The May issue deadline is April 29th with a publishing date of May 6th.

Repeater – Henry KØHAS & Shel NØDRX

Shel thinks the May 6th Spring Repeater Council meeting will be in Duluth and he may be able to attend.  We are still looking for a 2nd qualified person that could have access to the stack in the event Henry is not available.

Remote Bases Committee – Pat WAØTDA, Keith AGØH, Eliot KEØN, Bill NØCIC, and Henry KØHAS.

Nothing new with the remote bases except there is no access to CW usage.

Unfinished Business

Equipment Trailer – Still waiting for spring weather to get going on a plan for interior build-out.

SARA’s 25th Year in 2017 – Bob WØGAF will be putting together a member survey to determine the club’s preference for how to celebrate the 25th Anniversary.  It will be set up on Survey Monkey to compile the results.

Tuner Purchase – The MFJ 986 Antenna Tuner has been ordered but still has not arrived at Radio City.

New Business:

No decision was made regarding rescheduling the November 11th meeting since it falls on Veterans Day this year.

We will wait until Joe KCØOIO is present to determine if we should reschedule the April 13th Board Meeting since it conflicts with Joe’s teaching the tech class that night.

We postponed the vote to order the Coax Crimping tool kit until next meeting.

John N5JLZ would like to research other locations for the training classes so that they can all be held at the same location to avoid confusing the students.  The Stillwater Library has become less reliable as a consistent location.

The inquiry from Paul Ramey WGØG in regards to us providing help for a Minneapolis Vets Home was briefly discussed and seems to be more of a responsibility than we want to take on at this time.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 PM.
